Becoming pregnant is no doubt a life event that changes a woman’s life completely. From the moment you realize you are with child, a big part of who you are, how you feel and what you do becomes altered, almost straightaway. Most women are excited and look forward to the new change, some worry about the process of carrying a baby. However it is almost universal, that women want only the best for their child. Sure, being pregnant will bring on some dull and not-so-great moments, but it is certainly a time of your life to be celebrated and make the best of. Here are a few suggestions on how you can make the most of your pregnancy:

Be Social!

We’re not talking about Facebook, Instagram and the likes (pun intended)! Some Pregnant women may feel less connected with friends as their priorities and thoughts are geared toward preparing for a new baby, convincing themselves to stay in, rather than be out and about. You can always join a support / social group for pregnant women. Check out a few events that have been crowd-sourced by Singaporean mums on

If you have a hobby, find a group of like-minded people who share the same interest as you do. If it is photography, join in a photo walk, or take a class on studio photography. Any kind of recreational activity that is not too high-risk is alright! Joining in these social groups help you meet new people, and with similar interests you certainly are not the odd-ball of the group!

Dress to Impress

Growing bigger doesn’t have to mean giving up on dressing in style! Maternity fashion has come a long way. In fact, it is no longer just about wearing to conceal the bump. There are a range of clingy tops designed specially to show off your beautiful baby bump. Pair your tops with a bump-friendly denim and a pair of comfortable flats for a day out. And hey, dressing well doesn’t just make you look good. You will good and more confident about yourself too!

Stay in Shape

Exercise does wonders not just for your baby but for you during and post-pregnancy. During pregnancy, exercise is important to keep you healthy and well enough to labor and give birth to a baby. At the same time it helps you recover faster and get back into shape quicker once your baby is born!
